Sugar Rush by the Dozen

2009 March 19

Baked and Wired cranks out a good cupcake, but I still prefer Georgetown Cupcake for its excellent cream cheese frosting and presentation, even if they are marginally smaller (slightly more petite than Baked and Wired versions).

Gloria and Chris visited me today, and guess where we went!? As usual, the line stretched out the door (though not quite as horrible as the time when it reached Prospect and wrapped around the corner!). But it was worth the wait, as evidenced by the huge box of a dozen cupcakes. Because one cupcake might get lonely.

A dozen Georgetown Cupcake cupcakes: Red Velvet, Chocolate^2, Boston Cream, Chocolate Banana, Vanilla Chocolate, & Peanut Butter Chocolate. Not necessarily in that order…

And bonus points for Georgetown Cupcake: they have consistently beautiful floral arrangements.

I especially appreciated the bright orange and yellow arrangement this time, very evocative of spring. Spring should be in full swing very soon as the Cherry Blossom Festival is soon upon us, very exciting!

The roses and purple plumeria (I think that’s what they are?) are so lovely, and the funny little yellow star-shaped flowers with orange centers (just tucked behind the rose) are absolutely delightful.  I love those little bursts of sunshine! I wish I knew what they were called.
