Booing

2008 November 18

We were taught not to “boo” at Harker. Because booing is unsportsmanlike and very impolite.

Harker fans do not boo the other team. We cheer for our own team instead.

So imagine my surprise when half of the three hundred billion different cheers (no…seriously) that are performed at a Hoya basketball game involved some sort of booing or similar ominous sound…

“Aren’t we being rather rude?” I asked several of my friends at yesterday’s season opener versus Jacksonville. They shrugged.

I guess we’re meaner in college. Bye Miss Manners…Hello Big East. Now ye shall know fear…and the wrath of a hundred thousand Georgetown basketball fans clad in the same gray t-shirt.

Go Hoya basketball!
